A Professor's Classroom Chronicles
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with students from diverse backgrounds. Each classroom was like a unique universe. Sometimes I was met with excited and curious eyes, while other times with tired and indifferent gazes. Keeping students engaged, especially during long lectures, was always a challenging process. One day, I decided to change my teaching approach. Instead of long, intense lecture blocks, I began offering shorter and more focused lessons. Just like athletes achieve better results with short, intense workouts, I realized that students learned more effectively with shorter and more attentive lessons. Of course, shortening the lessons wasn’t enough on its own. I needed to ensure active student participation. To reinforce the material, I started giving short quizzes at the end of each class.
