Abstract

Contemporary AI-supported decision environments accelerate cognitive processes while often diminishing depth, responsibility, and ethical reflection. This study introduces the Reflective Decision Matrix (RDM MASTER v36.6), a ritualized epistemic interface designed to counter this trend.

RDM structures human reasoning into three layers: technical analysis, systemic expansion, and ethical reflection. Deliberate cognitive friction, micro-pauses, and responsibility thresholds guide users toward awareness rather than speed. The system positions AI as a reflective companion rather than an authoritative substitute.

A case application on the Marmara earthquake scenario demonstrates how the approach surfaces not only technical risks but also societal inequities, infrastructural vulnerabilities, and ethical obligations. The findings suggest that ritualized layered cognition offers a viable pathway for responsible human–AI co-decision in high-stakes domains.
